Introduction

Dear Moton Families and Friends,

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. Your PTA is looking forward to an eventful and productive year of learning, growing and reaching new heights. Parent participation is what makes our PTA work! We welcome everyone: parents, grandparents, family, friends, neighbors, relatives and businesses to take part. It’s a proven fact that children do better academically when parents are involved in their education.
This is our goal.

About us

  • Our organization of involved parents, teachers, and community partners is committed to
enriching the educational environment at R.R. Moton Elementary.
  • We have a powerful voice for all our children
  • We are strong advocates for the education and well-being of every child.
  • We assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise, protect and prepare their children
  • We encourage parent and public involvement in the public school of the community and state

Thank you parents, grandparents and community members for your interest in supporting our school through PTA membership donations as well volunteer opportunities.

Meetings

Executive meetings are held every 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM with the last meeting in May. These meetings are not open to the public. However, if anyone would like a topic to be brought to the table make sure you get to one of us well before the board meeting of that month.

General meetings will be posted here so stay tuned...

Join the PTA!

PTA Membership

We invite you to join the R.R. Moton Elementary School PTA. The PTA is a parent, teacher, and community association that serves our children and our school. The PTA supports educational, cultural, safety and technological programs at the school. Improving communication between you and the school is a major focus of the PTA. Together we can make a difference in our students’ lives. This is what the PTA is all about: Advocacy for all children.

National PTA provides exclusive offers to PTA members. The PTA is able to partner with businesses and negotiate special discounts, fundraising opportunities, and other valuable benefits exclusively for PTA members. When you make purchases from these companies, not only will you receive a discount, but the National PTA will also receive a percentage of royalties from the sales. For more information, visit: https://pta.org/member_benefit_providers.asp

Donations

Donations are another way PTA can secure funds, services and/or resources to continue providing programs geared toward academic enrichment, campus enhancement, safety, communication, and appreciation of our well-deserving staff and students. We urge you to make a contribution to the PTA today!

Volunteering

Throughout the school year, PTA organizes and participates in fundraisers and other events for our school. We have many opportunities for volunteers and encourage you to get involved.
